Founder Story & Organizational History

DI Anointed Ones was founded in 2007 out of a deep commitment to serve vulnerable individuals and families in Los Angeles County. The organization was created with the belief that communities are strengthened when compassion, guidance, and practical support are extended to those facing hardship.

The founder recognized that many individuals experiencing homelessness, youth exposed to gang violence, and underserved children often lack access to consistent support systems. In many cases, these individuals fall through gaps in traditional service networks, leaving them without the resources necessary to improve their circumstances.

Through faith, community engagement, and a commitment to service, DI Anointed Ones began as a grassroots outreach effort focused on meeting people where they are. Early outreach included distributing food and essential supplies to individuals experiencing homelessness and engaging youth in conversations about positive life choices and alternatives to gang involvement.

As the organization grew, its mission expanded to include programs supporting underserved children and families through school supply drives, holiday assistance, and community mentorship initiatives.

The work of DI Anointed Ones is rooted in the belief that prevention, guidance, and compassion can change the trajectory of lives. By offering mentorship to youth, providing essential resources to individuals experiencing homelessness, and supporting families facing hardship, the organization seeks to strengthen communities and create pathways toward stability and opportunity.

A Legacy of Service Since 2007

Today, DI Anointed Ones continues to serve communities throughout Los Angeles County through outreach, prevention programs, and community partnerships. With the support of volunteers, donors, and community leaders, the organization remains dedicated to its founding mission: helping individuals overcome challenges and build stronger futures.

Community Demographics & Service Area Analysis

DI Anointed Ones primarily serves communities throughout Los Angeles County, including areas with high levels of economic hardship, homelessness, and youth exposure to violence. Los Angeles County is home to more than 10 million residents and continues to face significant social challenges affecting vulnerable populations.

Homeless Population

Los Angeles County has one of the largest homeless populations in the United States. According to regional counts conducted by local agencies, tens of thousands of individuals experience homelessness on any given night. Many individuals lack access to consistent meals, hygiene supplies, clothing, and supportive services. Community-based outreach programs are essential to providing immediate survival resources while helping connect individuals to additional support systems.

Youth Exposure to Violence

Many youth in underserved communities face exposure to gang activity, community violence, and limited access to mentorship opportunities. Without structured programs and positive role models, youth may be at increased risk of gang recruitment, school disengagement, and involvement in harmful activities. Programs focused on mentorship, education, and prevention can significantly reduce these risks by providing youth with guidance, leadership development, and constructive activities.

Underserved Children and Families

Economic disparities across Los Angeles County leave many families struggling to provide essential educational and basic living resources for their children. Many students attend school without adequate supplies, while families facing financial hardship often rely on community organizations for seasonal support programs such as school supply drives and holiday assistance.

Role of DI Anointed Ones

DI Anointed Ones addresses these community challenges by providing direct outreach services, prevention education, and family support programs that fill critical service gaps. The organization focuses on individuals and families who may not otherwise access traditional support systems. Through partnerships with community volunteers, faith organizations, and local supporters, DI Anointed Ones is able to reach vulnerable populations across Los Angeles County and provide essential resources that improve quality of life and community stability.
